Zinda Ho Tum
Dilon mein tum apni betaabiyan leke chal rahe ho, toh zinda ho tum
Nazar mein khwaabon ki bijliyan leke chal rahe ho, toh zinda ho tum
Hawa ke jhokon ke jaise aazad rehna seekho
Tum ek dariya ke jaise lehron mein behna seekho
Har ek lamhe se tum milo khole apni baahein
Har ek pal ek naya samaa dekhiye
Jo apni aankhon mein hayraniyan leke chal rahe ho, toh zinda ho tum
Dilon mein tum apni betaabiyan leke chal rahe ho, toh zinda ho tum
(English Translation ~ the spirit of the poem not the exact words)
If your heart pounds to do something, then you are alive.
If your eyes shouts your dreams from their depths, then you are alive.
Be free, as the wind beneath your wings.
Be fluid, like how the fish in the sea swims.
Each moment, live like it’s your last.
Each second, dream like it’s your first.
If your spirit is fired and raring, then you are alive.
If your heart pounds with the spirit to do something, then you are alive.
Pighle Neelam Sa
Pighle neelam sa behta ye sama,
neeli neeli si khamoshiyan,
na kahin hai zameen na kahin aasmaan,
sarsaraati hui tehniyaan pattiyaan,
keh raheen hai bas ek tum ho yahan,
bas main hoon, meri saansein hain aur meri dhadkanein,
aisi gehraiyaan, aisi tanhaiyaan, aur main… sirf main.
Apne hone par mujhko yakeen aa gaya.

The hue of this evening, like a blue diamond,
the calm silence,
there is no earth and no sky,
the whisper of the leaves,
tell me that it’s only you here,
just me, my heartbeats and my thoughts,
such tranquility, such remoteness and me…just me.
Meeting myself, I started believing that I am.
Tu Kyun Rota Hai
Jab jab dard ka baadal chaya
Jab ghum ka saya lehraya
Jab aansoo palkon tak aya
Jab yeh tanha dil ghabraya
Humne dil ko yeh samjhaya
Dil aakhir tu kyun rota hai
Duniya mein yunhi hota hai
Yeh jo gehre sannaate hain
Waqt ne sabko hi baante hain
Thoda ghum hai sabka qissa
Thodi dhoop hai sabka hissa
Aankh teri bekaar hi namm hai
Har pal ek naya mausam hai
Kyun tu aise pal khota hai
Dil aakhir tu kyun rota hai

When the clouds of pain loomed
When the sadness threatened to overcome
When the tears in my eyes, gleamed
When the heart was alone and overstrung
This is the way of the world, my dear heart
Stop your inexhaustible torment,
And follow the path, you are smart
These unbearable silences and discontent
Time has bestowed to each and to all
There is a little gloom for each one
But there are moments that do enthrall
So don’t be morose, no more
Each second the times are a-changing fast
These are precious, so don’t ignore
This is the way of the world, my dear heart
