Once upon a time, in the middle of a jungle, a lion was sleeping on a rock, resting his big head on his paws. A little mouse came upon him suddenly and in her fright and hurry to get away, she ran on to the lions paws. The lion woke up and he was angry – he leapt at the mouse and caught her.
He roared, “You woke me up and I am going to eat you….”
The little mouse pleaded with him and said, “Oh please, please let me go and one day I will help you.”
The lion started laughing – how could such a little mouse ever help him – the big strong lion. But he was kind and he let the mouse go.
A few days later, the lion was walking in the jungle and he got caught in a hunter’s net. He twisted and he turned but he was not able to get free. He roared and roared and roared loudly and the little mouse, heard him. She came to his help. She came and then bit the net until it gave way and she gnawed and gnawed and finally the lion was free.
The lion said, “I laughed when you said you would help you but now I see, even a little mouse can help a big strong lion”
And from then the lion and the mouse were great friends.
The moral of this story is that be kind – kindness always gets rewarded.
