Pandemic hits the UK | Poetry | Poems-map | The Royal Society of Literature

The fear is rampant in all streets and corners
A steady horrifying increase in mourners
And all we can see are haunted eyes
In thousands not hundreds – the numbers rise

A steady horrifying increase in mourners
As hotspots across the UK are affected
The hospitals heroes face more horrors

And all we can see are haunted eyes
As people walk with face covered half
Dampening their crushing vehement cries

In thousands not hundreds – the numbers rise
And with no end in sight, there’s no option
Act – don’t be imprudent, do be wise
