“I do believe something very magical can happen when you read a good book” ~ J K Rowling
It took me a long while to write this post. Everything I wrote didn’t seem to do justice to my love for Books. I have been reading ever since I can remember ~ it is in my top 5 favourite activities…[ummm travel being one…though I do take books along….ooooh food~ but I do read whilst eating (if at home!) 😋] so actually it is THE favourite activity…❤️📖
Books make me lose myself and yet I also find myself in them. I started off reading all the Enid Blytons and the like, as a child. I moved to all the Classics and had loved my literature class ~ it was then I found poetry as well. There was an era that I read all the Agatha Christies’ and other mystery novels and then it was all the romance novels…and now, I read on countless of topics, each bringing me a different life ~ I read somewhere that a reader lives a thousand lives before (s)he dies…I find that to be so true ~ I won’t start on all the books that I love – perhaps that’s for another blog post.
It broke my heart last year to donate 100s of my books as I moved countries *sigh* – though my sweet sister is helping me put my collection back together (yes I photographed and listed each book that i donated! 😳) – this time in ebook format so I don’t have to go through that again! However, there is something about actual books – I can’t stop buying them, though I do restrain myself from going overboard! For me, there is nothing better than sitting on the balcony all day, with a cup of masala tea and my books, overlooking the gardens.
